A Little About Me...

My name is Lucy (not iggy!) and I live in Somerset in England. I am a very happy, friendly, bubbly person and I think that it is reflected in my art work, as all art have a very bright and bold feel about them.

My Other Interests...

I absolutely love my music, in particular indie/rock/dance. My favourite musical artists are Ellie Goulding, Enrique Iglesias, Kids In Glass Houses, You Me At Six, Michael Buble, Stephanie McIntosh, Two Door Cinema Club, Biffy Clyro, Muse, the Kooks, Kelly Clarkson, amongst many others. I love to dance, and am currently learning how to Latin dance, espcially enjoying the Jive, Rumba and Cha Cha Cha! Really love Strictly Come Dancing when it's on TV!!

My Painting Background and Future...

I have been painting ever since I was little. The talent of painting has run through the generations of my family, so I encouraged to make the most of my talent for painting. I studied BTEC National Diploma in Fine Art at Strode College, where I learnt to develop and discover my style. I am planning to go back to college to study an AS in Graphics, and I would love to work for a magazine in the future, as I feel I could bring my artistic approach and ideas to any job. Illustration for books and magazines is also something I would be interested in, as I can create lovely cartoons as well as deatiled portraits.

Portraiture and Inspiration...

As you are probably aware I mainly focus on portraiture. I especially love to paint eyes and hair. A lot of my inspiration comes from Beauty magazines.

Artists That Inspire My Work...

J. W. Waterhouse for his lovely portrait paintings and the detail he put into the clothes. Also Roy Lichtenstein, who gave me the inspiration for my orgainal pop art.

My Favourites...

My favourites include my portraits of Cheryl Cole, Enrique Iglesias and Captain Jack Sparrow. But I also love "Bubblegum Pink" and "Before the Stage" as I like painting bold pretty make up!
